Dollar & Thrift Store Shopping
Some of my greatest finds were found in dollar stores and thrift stores! One would be surprised at what you can find. So don't overlook these - you WILL find interesting decor items at VERY AFFORDABLE prices.
When shopping at thrift stores, don't just look at an item for what it is. Try to see its potential and what it could be!
Imagine it with a new coat of paint, new hardware, etc.
You can buy sheets in thrift stores in many different designs. Use the sheets as fabric to make pillows, seat covers for chairs and so forth.
I've found several very plain (kind of ugly) brown shelves with a bar (probably a bathroom towel rack). I painted them in different colors and added designs and now use them to display some of my vintage collectibles.
I found a CD/video rack at a thrift store for $4.00. It's about 18" wide X 36" tall. It was the perfect thing to store some of my craft materials like small bottles of paint and glue.
